THERAPeUTIC FRAMEWORK
I’m primarily trained in working with individuals who experience depression, trauma, anxiety, grief, mood disorders, interpersonal conflicts, and big or small life transitions. My experience in community mental health, HIV social work, and private practice settings created the strong clinical foundation for my therapeutic approach with clients.
I use collaborative and explorative interventions to help clients build a strong sense of self and move towards a readiness to change. I value creating a safe space for people to process their lives openly and strive to foster a connection that promotes new insights and long-lasting positive transformations.
I regularly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions to begin fostering curiosity and non-judgement into your thought and feeling patterns. We tend to have some pretty rigid mindsets, and so I appreciate ACT’s focus on defusing from powerful stories and shifting towards more flexible and fluid ways of thinking and feeling. I also engage in psychodynamic processing in order to provide insights into current behaviors and relationship patterns. Processing, healing from, celebrating, and honoring past and present experiences are essential to creating a strong sense of self that is founded on grace and love.
