Novels go widely underutilized as clinically helpful (and accessible!) tools for our own development and growth. Pairing that with my general love for gabbing with others about books, I started a newsletter that includes book reviews and a clinical reflection pulled from a book read that month. It’s a fun little passion project that I’ve wanted to do for years, and 2026 was finally the year to make the time.

A quick note on my clinical reflections: I don’t write vignettes about clients. Period. I think it’s almost impossible to do it ethically, and I want people I do therapy with to be assured that their confidentiality is being respected in all ways at all times. That said, it’s important to learn from human experiences, which is why I use a combination of characters’ stories and my own personal life reflections as a way to more deeply analyze and explain clinical themes and ideas.
